Maybe I'm just ignorant of how to use this forum, or maybe my browser isn't rendering properly, but I must say that posting via mobile has something to be desired.
I'm accessing this forum using a Samsung SGH-i617 running Opera Mobile 8.65 Windows Smartphone edition.
Forgive me for thinking that a forum called "Mobility" would be more conducive to being viewed on an up-to-date mobile device.
Yes, I am posting here, so there's obviously mobile access, yet I find this forum style to be better suited to a notebook PC.
I must be doing something wrong? :dontknow:
I agree, the mobile version of Mobility does leave a lot to be desired.
The inability to send PM's and view entire threads (rather than just one post) are both disappointing to me... but hopefully we'll be seeing some improvements shortly. I agree that a forum about the mobile web should sport a more appealing mobile version of the site (after all, it is .mobi we're pushing here, and that begins with making the mobile web more appealing). Would even be nice to see some things being done that haven't been done before-- for example, a mobile auction bidding/alert system would be awesome, and I think we have the talent here to get something like that done.
Here is a thread devoted to ideas and suggestions for the mobile version of Mobility:

Oh, and welcome to the community! Nice to have you here. Could you tell us a little bit more about yourself? Do you have any .mobi domains?

Ok... It's me, operator error... I changed some settings on my browser (identify as handheld) & now I'm viewing the mobile version of this site. It loads faster, without controls my browser doesn't support.
Curiously, some items that were functioning when my browser identifies itself as a desktop PC are absent, eg 'smilies' although that's not so bad.
I have been considering getting a .mobi domain, and am also looking for hosting for that domain & one other which I currently own.
Any advice or criticism is quite welcome!
Thanks!

Welcome schizo!
The inability to send PM's and view entire threads (rather than just one post) are both disappointing to me...:hmmmm2::hmmmm2:
I can send PM's and view entire threads via the mobile version, I do it all the time. What I miss is auto quoting when responding to a PM or post.

Oops, by sending PM's, I meant by PM'ing users straight from the threads.
And that's weird, for some reason I have no way of viewing entire threads? When I click on a thread it only shows me the last post... not sure why, or how I can change this... any ideas? I'm using my Blackberry Curve 8300.

Ah yes, that is different, I think it is a javascripting feature on the PC version.
