I am starting this thread because I feedback on Developers who you hire to build your mobi sites.
Did you have a good experience or a bad experience?
I am having a site developed now and will give my review when it is finished.

I'll spill it: The developer of lyp.mobi took forever to finish and always gave me lip service and the shuck and jive. When I threw more money his way to ad some bells and whistles, he took even longer, but this time I PAID COD so I was much more chill....

Oh, then there is the part where the ****** bag sold my EXACT design as a clone script within a month or so.

PM me for his name. DON'T PAY IN ADVANCE FOR ANYTHING. It takes out the sense of urgency and you lose leverage. Also, it is a sign that your job will be farmed out to a third party.

I asked Carlton on NP to do caddies.mobi, and I couldn't be happier with his work, turnaround time and professionalism. He kept me abreast of the development phase all the way until its completion and very easy to deal with. Paid when the project was completed :)

Let me publicly state something here:

#1 - It was my company who developed lyp.mobi. Dave (developmy.mobi) was the one in charge of the project and kept feeding me line after line of BS that in-turn I would then tell the client. While Dave (developmy.mobi) was doing this he was secretly starting his own company with his Brother call WestCountyWeb.com purposely sabotaging my projects so could then steal/ruin what I built.

It all backfired on him the day he posted on Namepros as the member sorrynerd selling scripts developed for my clients publically. Here are the screenshots:
http://www.carriereentertainment.com/phpplaza.tiff
http://www.carriereentertainment.com/phpplaza2.tiff

Now, this is where things get even better. As a DIRECT result of Daves (developmy.mobi) actions I had to refund thousands of dollars to my clients, lost upwards of $XXX,XXX in both cash, momentum, and value in my start-ups, 2 servers crashed due to his coding of unrestricted upload scripts, and use of output buffering to hide coding errors, and using persistent connections in mysql when they are not needed overloading apache/mysql, and the list goes on and on.

I will not, and refuse to be dragged through the mud. I do accept liability as he was employed by me but will not continue to lay silent as be dragged through the mud.
I am the most PROACTIVE developer and supported of .mobi. I have exhibited at multiple conventions supporting the extension, own over 150 live DEVELOPED .mobi's, personally (me, not Dave) developed over 70 .mobi names over the last 2 months, manage over 500 others for other unnamed members of this forum, and filed 6 mobile related patents in 2007.

All in all I learned alot of valuable lessons over the last year. I am not some 19 year old kid (Dave) with no real responsibilities who does not care who he screws over. I am a married man with 3 children, a mortgage, car payments, etc. I unlike Dave (developmy.mobi) have real reasons not to intentionally screw someone over for only $150.

I am also in the process of organizing a teleconference featuring Pinkard Brand, and many other high level executives where people can call in to ask questions and also listen to them speak. This is a live conference and Pinkard as well as others are already confirmed and will be taking questions from callers.

If anyone has any questions please feel free to PM me!

Below you will find a PM from Tim you will see where i tried to work with him to even change his site. I have been nothing more then fair.

I am talking squarely about YOU and you should know that. You suck. And I don't give a crap about your problems.

Maybe this will jog your memory:

The sites LOOK AND ACT identical. I sure hope you can see that.

For the sake of argument, you're fired.

I just had words with my developer.

Yours has news, 4-1-1 does not,
yours has a web version, 4-1-1 does not, they are not identical but I can see how they are similar. For the sake of argument I am going to have my lead developer make some changes to ensure yours stands out and looks unique. Do you have any ideas?

Michael :)

Someone else PM'd me and told me there was a copy of lyp so your flat wrong.

It is an identical copy of my site and that is bull**** that you'd do that. I paid for a uniquely designed and coded site. i waited for months for christs sake for it. I could have just gone out and picked up a template front end because that is what happened anyway.

Cheap cheap cheap. I'M OFFENDED

I take offense by that as there is only so many ways to create the same type of site. First off it is not the same exact site. Not even close. Lets see yours has a web version, news, and more.

4-1-1 only has listings and a base directory. I do not even see a comparison besides the it being a yellow page site.

M

You resold my exact same site? That's pretty cheap, pal.

Its mykel241 from NP's. Any other questions, just ask :)

gary-

Just curious...

AND I have all the delays and shuck and jive via emails too. I think you lie about time lines and you resell what is sold as original code work. It is my duty to let others in my community know about my terrible experience with you. Don't stink up my inbox with your crap anymore either. I've got nothing more to say to you.

Thank you for posting this - It makes it public record.

My bottom line is this: I contracted with YOU to build me a site. You gave me X timeline. You (or whatever third party face is placed on the blunder) blew that out of the water.

Between the initial build out of lyp mobile and then the web version and the mods, you were nearly two months off schedule.
As a manager, you should have read the problem and fixed it. I was an early customer.

Oh, and then there's the part WHERE YOU SOLD A CLONE OF LYP WITHOUT TELLING ME. I gave you the database because you said it was problematic, but you should have been UPFRONT about selling my design to buckshotdots and 4-1-1.mobi (offline now). That is why I think you suck and why others should avoid you. It wasn't that other dude who sold that script, it was you and you never denied it.

Screw me once shame on you, screw me twice shame on me.

I never sold a clone and never will. I did not personally code 4-1-1 Dave did. I offered to make it right and you refused. Furthermore 4-1-1 and lyp have nothing in common except a database the is available all over the internet for $19.00. If anyone wants full email transcripts or chat transcripts please PM me as I will provide them. The bottom line is I never said I was not responsible as I am as a business owner and I took responsibility. My error was in Judgment with hiring Dave (developmy.mobi).

4-1-1.mobi was a custom project for buckshotdots along with xCard_mobi.

Michael :)

I'd just like to request that you guys take this back to PM for a while to see if you can sort this out. You both have otherwise good reputations here and there doesn't seem to be much sense in dragging each other's names through the mud. You've both aired your sides of the story, so let's leave it at that -- if things get any more heated here, we'll have to lock down the thread.

However, we'd love to hear if this gets resolved amicably. :rolleyes2:

I'm done with this last comment:

I never sold a clone and never will.
You had a thread running here with clone scripts for sale.

I did not personally code 4-1-1 Dave did. Didn't you just say "I am as a business owner and I took responsibility." in this SAME POST, yet you shuck responsibility on to your employee.

I offered to make it right and you refused. At some point I have to stop digging myself into a hole despite the offers of more and better shovels.

Furthermore 4-1-1 and lyp have nothing in common except a database the is available all over the internet for $19.00.
Except the design was so incredibly similar that ANOTHER NP MEMBER brought it to my attention. I didn't even know it had happened. SOMEONE else said, "hey check this out!" Uncanny.

Shuck and jive. I was going to keep your name out of the public forum. I was only going to PM those who asked. You copped to it and brought on the public scrutiny. That is another tell of bad judgment.

Myself also.

You had a thread running here with clone scripts for sale.

Yes. My scripts of MY SITES not my clients. Made to sell! I own over 400 custom coded scripts. Its how I make my living. This is what I do full-time. No part-time, not as a hobby, I have been doing this since 1997 including mobile since 1999 with building offdeck wap decks for an RX start-up.

Except the design was so incredibly similar that ANOTHER NP MEMBER brought it to my attention. I didn't even know it had happened. SOMEONE else said, "hey check this out!" Uncanny.

Correct, and when it was brought to my attention I offered to rectify the situation.

Didn't you just say "I am as a business owner and I took responsibility." in this SAME POST, yet you shuck responsibility on to your employee.

Yes. He was the one in charge and I trusted his judgment. When it was brought to my attention I tried to fix but again you refused.

I have nothing to hide and I already made it public knowledge months ago. It was an err in judgment on my part, I learned, and I moved on.
