Just took a gander at Mobility.mobi and it's traffic rank. Was very surprised to see it was ranked 799,455 already  and yesterday it was ranked 70,226!

Are those number and days transposed?

If not then I really do not understand the Alexa system.

The main traffic rank is based on a 3 months average. The day rank is for that day only.

Here is the official explanation:

"
What is Traffic Rank?

The traffic rank is based on three months of aggregated historical traffic data from millions of Alexa Toolbar users and is a combined measure of page views and users (reach). As a first step, Alexa computes the reach (http://www.alexa.com/site/help/traffic_learn_more#reach) and number of page views (http://www.alexa.com/site/help/traffic_learn_more#page_views) for all sites on the Web on a daily basis. The main Alexa traffic rank is based on the geometric mean of these two quantities averaged over time (so that the rank of a site reflects both the number of users who visit that site as well as the number of pages on the site viewed by those users). The three-month change is determined by comparing the site's current rank with its rank from three months ago. For example, on July 1, the three-month change would show the difference between the rank based on traffic during the first quarter of the year and the rank based on traffic during the second quarter."The link:

Domain name forums generally have much better Alexa scores than forums unrelated to domain names and far better scores than websites which aren't forums at all. Because Alexa is designed somewhat like Nielson ratings are, it is naturally skewed towards the people who generally install such a program -- webmasters, domainers, entrepreneurs. Counter that with the fact that every time you post something counts as a page view, and you'll find that the amount of page views (something which contributes considerably to traffic rank) is considerably higher at forums than it is at your typical website.

Exactly right, Reece. Installing Alexa is common among domainers so most domain related sites enjoy a high ranking.

If you want to increase the mobility Alexa rank just encourage more members to install and use it. Unfortunately, there isn't a Firefox version so my visits won't be helping out much.

There is a firefox add-on. And it does count your visits. The add-on is from quirck. Very useful tool. On every page it shows you the Page rank and Alexa rank.

And about the counting... You can see that my visits are counting...

http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details?q=&url=mobility.mobi shows us that

Mobility.mobi users come from these countries:

United States (http://www.alexa.com/site/ds/top_sites?cc=US&ts_mode=country&lang=none) 78.9%
Netherlands (http://www.alexa.com/site/ds/top_sites?cc=NL&ts_mode=country&lang=none) 21.1%And that 21.1%, thats me :p
