Does the current version of the MSG design tool support the creation of a text box for input? I looked at a lot of sites and read this forum but did not see an example.

I have a simple beginner application in mind and need a TEXT BOX for input from the User, plus the ability to add what they input to form an external web link, that I understand the version 2.0 software tool does support.

Comments? Ideas?

Thank you for even reading this beginner question.

Do you mean a form?

Yes, I guess it's the simplest possible form. I thought this is normally called a TEXT BOX however as there is a single input say of 50 alphanumeric characters maximum.

The form would just have to handle User input to the mobile device that is alphanumeric like CD12345. With this input, I would add it to the end of a standard external web link format to create the following external web link...

www.domain.com/ES/Details05.aspx?moreID=CD12345 (http://www.domain.com/ES/Details05.aspx?moreID=CD12345)

Does the MSG .mobi tool (version 2.0) support this?

If som I would appreciate knowing how to add this functionality to a standard MSG created site.

Did you try asking in the mobisitegalore forum? They're usually pretty good about answering questions.

Thank you. I will post same question there. I thought there were lots of MSG users here and it seemed to be more of an interactive forum.

beginner :smile:I was checking site.mobi (powered by mobisitegalore) and they have the ability to add a form page, see the left side of the attached screenshot. Don't see how it could be added to a url for browser navigation though.

Thank you Scandiman! I will check this out. I am also interested in seeing what new information is provided at the other site.

For those wondering, this cannot be done as part of Version 2.0 release and I have asked about possibility of Version 3.0 supporting my application. (See excellent response on MSG Forum.)

I didnt think you could use a textbox in a mobile site. Maybe things have changed, I dunno.

The link to the thread is:
http://forums.mobisitegalore.com/viewtopic.php?t=2560 (http://forums.mobisitegalore.com/viewtopic.php?t=2560)

It seems that it may be supported in a future MobiSiteGalore tool release.
(I hope that Srikanth will update us on this feature in the future.)

Thank you for all your comments/help on this question.
