A great example on how to concentrate on every negative (real or imagined) aspect of a piece of information. You can see the animosity against .mobi in every paragraph.

unlike most popular .mobi domain names, it actually resolves to a .mobi domain rather than just forwarding to a mobile version of a .com we site.
providing interactivity despite mobile limitations.
(since downloading it on the phone wouldn’t work well).
The only unfortunate news in this for .mobi fans is that this is a long and poor domain name.
Even worse, ObamaMobile.com is owned by
Republican candidate John McCain doesn’t have a mobile site.

Maybe they would like to try some objective reporting at some point? Surely mobile has its limitations, but do they equally concentrate on the negative aspects of conventional websites when reporting about them?

>>"The only unfortunate news in this for .mobi fans is that this is a long and poor domain name."

If this is the best you can do to bad-mouth an extension you don't like, you are in big trouble...
For some reason I have the impression that should the domain be different, they would also complain about that: "too short", "meaningless", "hard to remember"...
Some people would use anything as long as it implies something bad for dotmobi

This Andrew seems to relish in the limelight lately about reporting on the negative aspects of .mobi...as least his presumption on the negative aspects.

As I said before, further down the line I look forward to the retractions.

It's in print, where are you going to hide it now?

Okay, I'll say it...

How *******! It's a long name thanks to all the squatters including the Republican Campaigners attempting to do a preemptive strike!

This was one of the biggest farces that I pointed out behind the Snowe Bill. Here she was campaigning against squatters and how illegal it was to register someone's name with out permission yet her own party was doing it by the boatload.

writeinpartyusa.org is registered in Georgia, a red state.
But my favorite - the most damning evidence of all:
Dems4McCain.info is also registered in a RED State, a very funky red state….. Arizona! McCain’s home state! Ans what’s even more astounding is:
clintondems.com,
hireheels.com,
gopumaparty.com
chicagoagainstobama.com
stop-obama.org
hillaryclintonforum.net- are all as well! They are all registered and launched in ARIZONA.

I have openly criticized this Andrew previously in his column for poor research and resourcing before publishing his slants.

There is no more journalism on the internet anymore. It is all nothing but opinions and who can get the opinions and the blog out there first. Content, research, substantiation is all an after thought.

He thinks the domain is too long.

Jesus, I don't think he has been looking at the market lately.

Those rules are 5 and 7 years old and no longer apply. Along with the rules of:

No Hyphens
No Numbers
Nothing except a dot com
Nothing over seven letters long

Old news.

And if your were someone bright enough to have followed those rules of the past when there was that opportunity, then you are hoarding one hell of a portfolio and do not need to be writing a damn blog.

although i'm sure he is just trying to get a little traffic for his impoverished site.

you know people are desperate for traffic or know how much traffic a .mobi story will bring, especially controversial, when you see Ron Jackson posting argumentative .mobi stories in a bid to get traffic. I like Ron but even I was surprised by his actions there.
