I need lots of help!
I really would appreciate the help if I decide to develop. I just don't have the time right now and probably won't for a long time. So if a good offer doesn't come in, I'll look you up and we can talk.
Thanks again

regardsI think what we are seeing is some great names in all languages right here on this forum.
In the long run, I think we're all going to need to put our heads together, form a true cooperative effort almost like a barter system, and develop and deploy.
Some have skills, other just names and ideas. A few have it all.
I consider language a skill and a necessity to deploy this concept of .mobi to a global marketplace.
I think this forum could perhaps drive that marketplace.

yes Gerry u r right, there r many great names in many languages
actually there r heads together already, believe me
i think that speaking more than 1 language is very important... im brazilian, so native portuguese speaker and speaking english made me know mobi (there is almost nothing about mobi in portguse... what if i dont speak english?) and speaking portuguese will make me show mobi here and spread it... im doing what i think is the best for the portuguese market
i agree w u when say that this forum can drive the marketplace... Mobility.mobi is very very new and what we have to do here is promote .mobi, discuss it always analyzing the good and bad points and trying to correct the bad ones; but to Mobility drive the marketplace we need more people here (it is growing, this forum is new as i said above), we need to invite everybody that believe in mobi to come here show their ideas and develop, develop and develop
did u read a thread that i wrote yesterday w the title "mobile news"? if u didnt go there and read it

did u read a thread that i wrote yesterday w the title "mobile news"? if u didnt go there and read itYes, I did read it. And thanks for bringing the attention to those markets again.
I have been keeping up with the trends and mobile (cellular) expansion for quite sometime.
I was not in on the landrush so needless to say nearly all the prime English and Spanish names were gone. Although there was still superb English words overlooked.
That is why I started looking at languages and countries and where the largest growth potential is for both the language and the populations.
For the Asian market, naturally China and Japan. But big .mobi movement in Japan. But I was still able to find numerous that are getting great traffic and CTR.
For European markets, everyone over there is so multilingual that is was good place to find native language names. Many superb German words remained. Getting great hits on those also. Italian market was also good but not that great for prime words. Was able to buy some on the secondary market very reasonable. French was so-so.
Africa is a little trickier. Rather than nations or native languages (hundreds if not thousands) that led me to look at the religious makeup of the nations and tribes. Being a great many Muslim, that led me to Arabic. More on that in a minute.
India is massive. But hindu can be tricky. That is why I asked for help with some words. I already had the domains regged but was still able to drop ones in time that were not spelled right or in native tongue. That is the good thing about these forums.
Mexico is of course Spanish. But what I found was a great many resort areas of Mexico and the Yucatan were still available along with prime words for those areas or attractions.
Portuguese was and is a gem. Brasalia Portuguese especially. Some great words were available and many had exceptionally high OVT and google results. When OVT and Google numbers almost match, that is sweet!
Chinese and Arabic are the trickiest. I did get some help in the Arabic side of things. Again, these words were already registered but I was able to drop and add in time. Even the person who assisted was amazed that they were still available and commented that I had some of the best and most proper Arabic words.
However. As he pointed out to me, the Arabic nations of the Middle East are much like the Chinese...number crazy. Arabic and Chinese is so difficult to enter and give an Anglicized spelling to that these languages tend to use numbers...A LOT! So that is why numbers are good. I have been preaching this from day one. Numbers NEED NO TRANSLATION! They are a universal language and have the same value. Plus, they are on every phone. No matter what you think a number says or means, it will have an entirely different meaning elsewhere but still be the same value and the same URL on a phone...in any language!
As for the Arabic words, there is an estimated 500 million cell phones in the middle east. But .mobi is practically unheard of. For now.
So I am prepared to sit on these words for a couple of years if need be. Perhaps, with the aide of native speakers and RSS feeds, a couple can be developed. Marketing the sites will be difficult.
Your Africa assessment is right on and will be one of the fastest growth areas for cell phones. With the World Cup in 2010 in South Africa and a lower per capita income than most nations, not everyone can afford a computer but the cellular phone numbers are set to explode with most manufacturers predicting this to be the largest growth rate and area (on a percentage increase basis).
So as you can see, even though I was not in on the ground floor of the landrush, I managed to get in while the dust had not settled yet.
With a little effort and research on my part, I think I have done pretty good. And with the continued support and cooperative effort that I am hoping for on this forum, I think every thing will be coming up MOBI.

i wasnt in on the landrush either, so the few names in english ive got r not so good, but as im lucky there were many portuguese names to be reg`d when i began w .mobi as already have. im focusing in names that i really think r perfect for .mobi in portuguese... names there i can have a great profit and that can be very nice to brazil and to mobi`s growth
the other names that i reg`d and r not in portuguese r geo mobi`s that i believe they belong to one of the best niche in the mobile world (but ive got geo mobi`s in portuguese as well - as u can see in my sig)
i didnt want another markets cause i cant spend so much im .mobi cause i dont work w that, it is one more thing im developing now and itd be much time to research names in arabic, chinese, japanese and hidu. but they r really great market, maybe in some years the best of all. i totally agree about numbers (NO TRANSLATIONS)
it will take some years, but it will be a success!!!

Yes, Bricio. You are correct...geo will and is BIG. Every one is on the go.
You were smart to look to Brazil and your native language. No one knows your country, your market, your needs better than you.
As for other markets and languages, some I just happened to know and came upon which just added to my enthusiasm.
I am prepared to sit and wait if I need to for some of these markets to catch up. I work at night and usually did the research while not busy and bored.
I never expected such rapid development and deployment by some of the major companies. It seemed rather quiet for the first few months and then one after another. It has been one of the first new major developments in the internet structure in quite some time.
They obviously see what .mobi is and what .mobi can be.
One day perhaps the .mobi group can have a conference in Rio. Hope you have a big enough boat.
I remember my first Portuguese registration. I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw it was available. That is what convinced me to look deeper into the Portuguese/Brazil Market.
Obrigado.mobi!

Gerry, a .mobi conference here in rio... who knows? id just love it!!
i think that it is easier to have success if u buy/have/develop what u r used w... ive lived all my life in rio and i know many cities in brazil. ill give u an example regarding geo mobi`s. there were many regs of brazilian cities that were not reserved names... even cities w 1-2 million people werent reserved names, but i prefer reg touristic cities instead of that ones cause i know the potential, i know people that go there (i mean economically, they will use cells to surf. unfortunately here isnt a rich country, so we have to focus people that can pay for the costs of a mobile internet). because of this i reg`d geo names that have the letters "i" or "e" before the name, what cant be good (what do u think about it?) but ive done this and if my mobi`s r developed before ill win the race
P.S1.: i liked Obrigado.mobi!!!
P.S2.: the PORTUGUÊS forum is almost ours... lol

P.S2.: the PORTUGUÊS forum is almost ours... lolSomeone was telling me that Samsung went on a spree of mobi registration with the "i" before it. I do have a few also.
Guess who owns iBrasil.mobi? The same person who owns Obrigado.mobi and iFutebol.mobi. I wanted Brasil the way the natives spell it and say it. I think with all the press and coverage behind the iPhone, that will certainly revive the "i" prefix which seemed to have fallen out of favor for a while. Not sure about the e. A big name going mobi could carry that along with it.
It may be years before Brazil/Brasil is released. So you are right. If you are first, everyone else is behind you. Perhaps we can work together on some of the Brazil/Portuguese.
Answer
P.S1.: Like it? I love it!
P.S2.: How did that happen? I like that it. But I am not sure it should be that way but this has been very educational for me. Good to see people around the globe with same values and pursuits working together.

Yes, I think there is potential for the "i" if it is done and marketed before the country/city names are awarded. Some of those may be years away.
And yes, I think my iRome.mobi will also do well...along with iRoma.mobi.
