New feature added: now every pub/bar in US has its own forum & commenting/rating feature.

This is my newly developed site (http://pubs.mobi) that allows users to locate pubs and bars in USA.

I would love to do this from the global scope, but unfortunately I cannot get pubs and bars data easily in other countries. So for now the site would only work in US.

I'm gonna have to get you to show me how to make a simple search directory like this for some of my planned sites. But it will have to be very dummied down!

I am using Yahoo API. You can find that info from:

hedge, I'm curious, do you have any idea why there are duplicate cities listed? Select "S" and you'll find many duplicates, like 5 links to San Diego, CA and many more with just 2 duplicates. Just seems odd since they bring up the same results. Otherwise, I like it, a quick tool to find a place to quench a thirst or drown a sorrow

They're an institution over here... we gave 'em to you... shame you can't tackle the UK data :frown:

nice.
you have to get the UK on there though as if you say 'pubs' anywhere in the world, people think England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales imo
But a Global Pub database, if there are some resources you can hack & add to your site would imo would lead to an incredibly popular site. This could be a regularly visited site.

also i would add a section for traditional pub games. there are loads of old ones we used to play and still do in some of the older rural pubs and up to modern stuff like sumo wrestling suits and karaoke

cheers

Nice! Good idea to use the Api.
For domainer, it is very helpful
since we have no data.

I'll definitely try to solve this problem ASAP. I may buy a UK pub database if there is one.

Awesome, Repped!

I would add Down Under as well. And thanks for the Why.mobi link, I'll go add your site to the list. :)

Still looking for UK pubs database, any suggestions? I'll buy one if the price is reasonable.
