I apologise for posting this article as I just noticed it was already reported here yesterday. Maybe the mods can cancel this post for me.

IT Week: As vice president of technology at the .mobi top-level domain registry dotMobi, how do you see uptake of the mobile internet progressing?
James Pearce: A lot of people are not brave enough to type in an arbitrary .com web address because the content will be irrelevant to them when they're out and about with their phone. It doesn't matter how good the browser is, .mobi sites should be quicker, cheaper and more relevant. But it's a bit of a chicken and egg situation at the moment in that we need to encourage people to build the content ahead of the rush but we need to market it [to the public], too. The next step for us is to make .mobi part of the consumer vernacular.

These two sentences say a lot to me. But, its not like they sponsored the pioneers going out west, it was more the promise of gold?! :vroam:
