Hello and Good Day Mobility !
I have a company that wants to be my exclusive hotel room booking company for a city dotMobi domain that I own. For the technology to work with their reservations database and the hotels/motels database, they need to install an "online engine link" onto my server? So like the title in my post...What is an "online engine link" ?
I hope there is an expert here that can answer the question for me...
:confused2: :hmmmm2:
Thanks and Godspeed!

Is your website live? Or are you just leasing the domain?
It might be something similar to those affiliates programs that provide you with a page customized to your website.
But other than that I have no idea what it is, the best is thing is to ask them directly and make sure this company is a reputable company.

myWS...
Thanks for responding to my post.
I believe they are a reputable company, and they are part of the Chamber of Commerce in that city. "Online engine link" they say is "something" that needs to be installed on the server-side...it is not just only "code" that I insert into the html page...
So please anybody know what an "online engine link" is?...so I may proceed with my dotMobi dream !!! Thanks for any help given.

Hi AC--I think its a good sign that this company wants to work with you. I have no idea what an online engine link is, but I'm sure some of the more technically-minded members can assist.
My only advice is not to get yourself tied in to a long-term arrangement with these guys until you are comfortable with how they operate. The fact that they are part of the local C of C is certainly a good sign, but I still think its a good idea for them to understand that if you are not happy with their performance, you can move on. Just something to consider if they ask for a long-term exclusive commitment from you.
Good luck,
Jeff

AtlanticCity.mobiSounds odd TBH. Most online agencies use an XML feed to allow you to build out the custom content you want to provide your users. I've looked into at least 4 hotel booking affiliate programs with white label services and none have had this kind of requirement. Your provider must be doing something completely different.:dontknow:

TNX Scandiman and All Else 4 posting. White-labeling is the plan in mind... The local company will provide a 1800 number and an "engine link" 2 connect 2 their booking software-database which will ALSO connect 2 hotel and motel databases too..seamless booking..is that "engine linking" or actually called sumthing else..(IM on my Treo..tru mobility!!!)...? Thanks again for any advice and help!!!
