Awesome!
I'll go check it out the next time I'm near a branch. I'll send it to Washington Mutual to get them off their butts and use their WAMU.mobi!

I knew someone would say that!
I was getting out my camera to take a picture of the ad but I realized I'm in a bank so it's a little fishy taking pictures in there ( they'll probably think I'm looking at the layout to rob it ).
You need to go there yourself and see it in person. It's much cooler. We all get wrapped up in our own world seeing everything on the internet.
It's 10 times cooler to see an actual printed ad promoting the extension rather than seeing a photo online.

Posting a photo you took of an advertising is fine. You are simply acting as a journalist in this regard. Copyright protects a creator of a work from someone else claiming it for themselves. So for example if you copy and post an article from a website without citing the source or giving a link then you are to some degree violating their copyright.

I walked past a Bank of America branch location yesterday and saw (approx 2ft x 2 ft) posters promoting the BofA.mobi site. One was prominently displayed in the streetside window and the other was in the lobby across from the ATM machine.

Hi All And Everybody...
...to add on...
My wife picked up a brochure at Bank of America. The brochure's title was... "GET WHAT'S NEXT>>> IN BANKING" ...there was www.bofa.mobi (http://www.bofa.mobi) on the inside...not Big or in Bold...BUT it was in there !
Also, www.bofa.mobi (http://www.bofa.mobi) was mentioned IN Bold on webpage,

I guess it's time to quit my day job and start the DREAM...

Does the Bank of America often have ads on the tv? If so that would be tremendous if .mobi got a mention there!.I truly believe it is just a matter of time, and not too far in the distant future.
I look for it within a couple of months. Bank of America has recently signed a licensing deal with the NFL (National Football League) to be name The Official Bank of the NFL.
From what I understand, this was an estimated $9 million dollar per year investment on BofA's part. They know that this is the largest audience in the country. This partnership gives both sides licensing rights.
Naturally, they will want a return on that investment. Pre-Season competition is coming to a close and the regular season starts soon. I look for the roll out of television spots in due time, and not too far down the road.
BofA is smart. They know millions of fans will have cell phones. They know this is their market. They know that on any given weekend, millions of fans will be at the arenas, tailgating, at sports bars, at home, or at friends houses. They will have a captive audience and they know it.
This is when I expect to see the money for television spots be spent. Prime time, prime audience, and maximization of ROI is the name of the game. Anything less from BofA to me would be a huge disappointment and letdown.
The Carolina Panthers play in Chalotte, NC at the Bank of America Stadium. Normally I go to several games per year. I do plan on attending at least 3-4 this year. I want to see the football plus the in-stadium promos. But with current working schedules and family illness, I can't count on that and may have to swap tickets out or give them back to the donor.
We'll see.
But I am so ready for
SOME FOOTBALL
and
SOME Bofa MOBI!

Bank of America has previously signed what I beleive is actually the largest sports audience in the US, NASCAR. Haven't seen any .mobi ads there but no doubt they will be working that live audience, with over 100,000 fans at most races, many using their cell phones to text each other because it's too loud to talk on the phone. That's a crowd that is primed for mobile web, a bofa.mobi or nascar.mobi will send them there in droves, the most brand loyal fans there is. No doubt Sprint/NEXTEL will be happy to sell them more data plans to get there.

Will be leaving within the hour to take care of some errands. One hopefully will find me inside the lobby of a BofA. Will see what I can see, will try to get auth to snap picrtures of banners and get literature. A decent sized branch so I'll hope for the best.

There were no banners per se hanging in this particular branch. They are primarily a loan office but do offer other services.
What I did see are very large POP displays prominently featuring the image as shown on the front cover. These were exceptionally well designed stand up placards all displayed at eye level, each with images about 2 feet wide by three feet tall. Each had a plastic brochure holder. So essentially you saw the same image as featured on this brochure touting the same message but very dynamic and eye catching.
For the Mobile banking they had two such displays.
These were also conveniently placed on the banking/tellers counter. In the back of the lobby between two offices was a huge display with additional services offered, again with plastic brochure holders and tons of these throughout.
I also found these throughout the lobby and on the deposit/withdrawal stations in the bank.
If you don't hear from me, I may be under watch as I did no business, just walked in and started helping myself to the "goods".
Shhh...what's that noise.
Quick! Hide the loot. Someone's at the door!

You have to figure with all the inhouse promotional activity that it is just a matter of time before this is in the face of everyone on the go...airports, stadiums, commuter lines, billboards, etc.
This is all well and good for offering services to existing customers, but look out...
I can feel it coming to a television, railstation, subway, football stadium, race track, bus, taxi, train, billboard near you.

I know the naysayers will say, oh, it's just one company, no big deal. But I think we all know that given the size of BofA and the fact that they are forward-thinking, plus AAA.mobi, AXA.mobi, Edelman.mobi all breaking news recently, I think we all have reason to celebrate. Those brochures and banners aren't cheap!
