I have an idea for one of my domains linkex.mobi.

It is going to be an advertising site, open to everyone, and absolutely free. Basically the way to gain exposure is to bring in more clicks. So you put the ad code on your site, and when someone clicks an ad, you get accredited with 1 click.

The 1 click you have for a credit will count for a click on your ad. So you must be a publisher and an advertiser for this to work.

This is how it will break down:

1 click = 1 click for you
100 impressions = 1 click for you

There will also be the option to buy clicks at a very low price, but I havent figured that part out yet.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Interesting concept. Build the puppy and lets watch it in action. The exchange rates can always be adjusted in the future, but it would be cool to have a minimum ready.mobi score to help encourage compliant sites and possibly a more favorable exchange rate for 5/5 sites.

Thats an interesting idea. I really want it to be open to everyone, and having to check all the sites that get entered might be a daunting task. But I like the more favorable exchange rate idea.

I will add to my notes.

The only thing I'm a little worried about is the link for link concept. I'm sure it will be fine, but if I start charging people to buy credits (completely optional) they might want a payout. We will see what happens.

I developed the link cycling code, so I think I'm just going to go through and make the site, and then add the other features if there is a need for them.

Currently it will count impressions and unique clicks, storing them in a log file in the database. Once someone clicks a link on your site, you are credited with 1 click.

If you are at 0 clicks, your ad will not show up, but there is going to be a small fee to pay for clicks.

I think it will work out great, as long as there are a lot of advertisers who are also publishers and vice versa.
