Has anyone noticed another surge of traffic since about last Friday to their mobi names?
My parked and developed names are getting increasingly more traffic and clicks and I like it.

NameDrive parking is in the toilet. 1 view so far in August for 49 domains.
Sedo is 156 views on 83 domains in August. Much much better. The performance of these 2 services has flipped for me, now Sedo is much better than ND.

hmm.. i just cant see how traditional parking with no advertising of the domain is going to generate ANY traffic besides a few domainers typing it in and seeing what's there.
i have many great keyword .mobi's parked at namedrive and barely any views... which is what i'd expect since i dont promote any of them or have them in my sig..hell i barely ever mention em unless theyre for sale.. and thats when they get the most "traffic".. which is still barely anything.
mobi doesnt have "type in traffic" like .com.. traditional parking probably isnt going to work for mobi..

Parking .mobi names isn't profitable at all right now. I have about 80 names parked at NameDrive and today I only made 7 cents so far today. I can't wait to get some more developed names rolling out soon. That's where the semi-real money is at the moment.

I agree with that but it seems that I am getting a few more hits here and there that don't appear to be domainers and are people actually clicking on ads for my parked pages. It's still only a few pennies but it's alot better than it was back a few months ago.

i have those clicks too.. domains ive never even mentioned.. but its so few and far between it really doesnt count as anything in my book.. i gotta admit, sometimes i click those ads just to be nice when i check on mobi's (im one of those guys that type it in and see whats there)
developed sites are another story.. if it has decent content, it will progressively get more traffic..

Last month my total # of hits at sedo was 1500. This month I already have almost 500. Sad to say there have only been 3 click throughs out of all those hits.

All of my parked ones are still at ND. I can't explain why, but last month , ND sucked. No better way to put it. This month, not much better. Only 9 views from 90 mobi's, but I did have 4 clicks...more than I made all last month.
Agreed that the future for monetizing mobi is not going to be parking, IMHO.

How are all of you guys doing with your developed names?
I have 36 clicks for today (from admob) on my two major mobile sites. Today so far is my most profitable PPC day ever.

Very nice to hear. I think the potential for type in traffic is starting to emerge with Dot Mobi....

At this point, I have removed admob from my sites. I had very poor results with the very non-relevant ads displayed. I see they have made some recent changes and I'll be looking into trying them again.
I've had more luck so far with decktrade. I'm only using them on 3 of my sites as the self-made mobisitegalore ones don't have the ability. I've heard it's coming though.
I like the banner ads with decktrade. MTD, I've had almost 500 views. A far cry from the parked names! Small click through rate, but I chose to have higher paying ads vs the ones that will get more clicks. So far, I've made more with them in about a month vs over 2 months with admob.

Parking is just that at the moment, somewhere to rest the mobi's until such time as I can develop. They will earn next to nothing while being parked and prompt me to draw one or two a day onto my servers and get them developed. Even simple content will mean the search engines pick them up and its all about eyes on the prize.
Admob is doing very well for me at the moment and will also look at adding decktrade to some of the mobi's as I haven't fully looked at them yet for additional revenue.
Developed mobi's are through the roof with traffic and I am very happy indeed with how things are progressing.
Develop the names with simple sites and its a start, you can always come back to the sites and make them more dynamic, but the first priority is to get them active.

1 view on ND last month. Blech!Yea, I don't know what is up with ND lately. :dontknow:
ND has tanked...I don't use Sedo. My parked traffic is nothing and rightfully so. We shouldn't even have parking talk here. We should focus on development talk. Otherwise, we are cutting off our nose to spite our face and dooming our investments.

Otherwise, we are cutting off our nose to spite our face and dooming our investments.I agree with you on several points. I think the park issue is simply a curiosity (at least for me) as they can not all be developed at once (wish they could) but in the meantime I like to see who, what, where the names and traffic is coming from.
I don't expect massive amounts of revenue. None of us should from parked names. We all know how parking companies work...they don't work for us! They work for themselves so forget about making a fortune.
But thus far for August I have had 35 different .mobi's recieve traffic at ND, only a few with clicks, one with 17 traffic count.
It appears strong generic words in any language are getting hits. I even have an Egytian/Arabic word with traffic, along with English, German, Italian, Japanese and some LLLL that may be interpreted in many languages. Sports, adult, dining, geo, gambling, travel and tourism, entertainment...these appear to be where the market is strongest from gauging my traffic and will aide in developing or add in prioritizing for development.
We all need to think seasonal also. If we have hockey, football, basketball when these may not be getting hits as those seasons are not fully upon us. At the same time, as baseball, nascar, racing in general start winding down, there will most likely be a decline in that traffic. Olympic and some geos should start picking up as Snow boarding, snow skiiing and those regions popular for such would likely see an increase.
Like I say, for me it is a curiosity and actually just another tool in gauging markets, trends and popularity.

Wow. Today was a pretty good mobi day
-About 50 clicks combined for my developed sites
-4 clicks for my names parked at namedrive (I don't promote any of my parked names).
What's going on?
Is there a company heavily promoting the extension?

Is anyone using admob AND decktrade on their mobile sites situated right below each other? admob is showing up but the decktrade adverts are not but there is a space where the advert should go. Is anyone else experiencing this at all?

All of my parked ones are still at ND. I am seeing the same scenario...traffic may not be as heavy but CTR is much better and some clicks paying very nicely.

I am also happy to report that my license plate, K9Z.mobi, may be working as as a promotional effort or a curiosity (unless it is other members clicking) as it has decent traffic and paying $0.97 per click!

To follow up on this thread, the past couple of days I have seen a big surge in traffic with now 301 parked mobi receiving traffic.
I do think that this is quite a bit of "searching" by folks picking and hunting for names as lately it almost seems to be going in alphabetical order. CTR is still not that great.

where you see a sudden strong increase in traffic but no clicks, it looks to me like automated systems at work. Either googlebots, or domainer's...

I am seeing the most traffic yet as of this month. I have already received 1000 hits and had 10 clicks on parked names at sedo. For me this is not a recent surge in traffic. Hits have been steady for several months now .
