This is what the 1st line of my traffic stats for areacodefinder.mobi show for this morning. 10 visitors from the iPhone is very promising.

10 Visitors 16.95% Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/42

Who said that it wouldn't help out the mobile web?

Who said that it wouldn't help out the mobile web?Not me. You'll have to visit another forum to find those voices.

It's working much as I suspected it would, and your logs and iPhone user feedback says a mobile friendly site is preferred. Thanks for sharing your data.

Boroughs.mobi is now #24 on Google for searches on "boroughs." Not sure how much of my traffic is from the iPhone but I'm happy nonetheless.

Boroughs.mobi is now #24 on Google for searches on "boroughs." Not sure how much of my traffic is from the iPhone but I'm happy nonetheless.#24 overall on Google out of 7.3 mil results.

I would call that a KICK ASS ranking on Google for any extension.

Not in the top 100 on Yahoo (yet) BUT #45 out of 600,000 plus on MSN. This is all very good, very fantastic. Making MSN is so difficult. To be ranked there is quite an achievement and absolutely something to brag about and be proud of.

I think any mobi ranked that high in Google searches is a KICK ASS effect.

You have a pagerank of two, which I find this site to be very unreliable sometimes:

Congrats on the hits from the mobi killing iphone:y:

It never made sense to me when doubters stated the iphone would make mobi irrelevant. :dontknow:

My sites are seeing very little hits from iphones. At least for now. Nokia seems to be #1 for most. Iphone hits are few and far between.

On the google end, I was quite happy to see pizzaz.mobi fairing the best from my group. Searching for "pizza search", out of over 63 million results, my little mobi sat on the bottom of page 1! When I added "local pizza search", out of over 7.2 million searches, mine is #1, page 1...not too shabby if I do say so myself.

Congrats on the hits from the mobi killing iphone:y:Ah yes, who can forget that "final nail in the coffin" thread on the infamous NP.

By the way, I do not watch much TV. But while staying with my mother, I did see TV and many many iPhone commercials. Not one did they emphasis the web or mention anything about a "water downed" web. It seem like the main emphasis was that this is an iPod that you can talk on, thus the iPhone.

Nothing, NOTHING at all emphasizing scrolling the web except maybe a 1-2 second clip. So I think Apple knows it has some work to do and is doing it. It will all be good for Apple and mobi in the long run.

I still see the iPhone web commercials here in CA. I don't care what their ads say about watered down web or whatever, it's growing our user base!
