UPDATE: The upgrade was successful but there are still a few kinks that need to be ironed out. I'm keeping track of the known issues below. Please report any issues you notice in this thread.

Hi Folks,

I'm going to be upgrading the forum to vBulletin version 3.7.0 in exactly 50 min (at 10pm EST), so Mobility will be unavailable for about an hour during that time (probably less). This new version is a major upgrade that includes a bunch of juicy new features and is considerably more secure.

After the upgrade, if you experience any problems, please post them here. Since we have installed a few modifications, there is a possibility that some of those may behave erratically after this upgrade. So if you notice any problems, please let me know via this thread and I'll get to work on fixing them ASAP.

Here are the details of the new version:

Following a very successful public pre-release testing phase, we are delighted to announce the release of vBulletin 3.7.0. (http://3.7.0./) This new version supersedes vBulletin 3.6 as our primary, stable and supported release.

In this new release, we have concentrated on improving features for visitors to vBulletin forums by implementing social networking tools such as extended user profile pages with visitor messaging, user picture albums, user-created social groups and reciprocal friendship creation. We have also taken steps to help forum staff deal with the growing problem of bulletin board spam by improving our human verification tools to prevent automated systems from registering and posting, and putting in place a one-stop-shop tool for dealing with spam and spammers in the inline moderation system.

Here is a brief but far from comprehensive list of some of the new features making their debut in vBulletin 3.7.0:

Inline spam management & prevention (http://mobility.mobi/showthread.php?p=1450764#post1450764)

OK folks, we're back online!

The update went smoothly and now I just have to iron out the final kinks (e.g. like the logo and header).

Please play around with the forum and report any bugs, problems, or anything missing or wrong, here in this thread.

Thanks! :)

Andres, do you know the difference between a group and a social group?

Andres, do you know the difference between a group and a social group? Not yet. :)

It's time to explore this new version and start figuring it out bit by bit, but it definitely looks like it has some cool new features.

A social group is probably less formal and can be started by anyone while a group I would assume is an Admin-generated usergroup. That's just an absolute guess at this point.

Just to test it, I made an invite only mod social group and invited you. Did you get a PM or something as an indicator?

Folks, I'm keeping track of known issues (since the upgrade) in the first post (http://mobility.mobi/showpost.php?p=48387&postcount=1) of this thread. Please report any issues you notice in this thread and I'll add them to the list.

It's 6:15am here in Barcelona so I'm off to bed. I'll get to work on the kinks tomorrow.

Have fun exploring the new features of vBulletin 3.7.0! :)

I'm currently working on installing a new version of the Chatbox for vBulletin 3.7.0, so the Chatbox will be unavailable during this time.

OK, I've installed the new Chatbox and everything seems to have gone fine but I'm getting a Database error on the very last step. I've gotten in touch with the Developer and will hopefully have this resolved and up and running ASAP.

I'll keep you guys posted.

As you have no doubt noticed by now, the Chatroom is back up. This is a new and improved version specifically for vBulletin 3.7.0 and includes some cool new features such as the ability to view who is currently in the chatroom.

However, there are still a few issues with it that I'm sorting out, such as why it won't display in the "New Posts" search results page and what the drop-down menu next to the usernames is for.

I'm still familiarizing myself with it, so bear with me while I iron out the kinks. Please let me know if you spot any other issues with it.

I have uninstalled the chatroom and will be doing a clean re-installation to see if that fixes the remaining kinks.

Please bear with me...

Absolutely nothing.

Never mind, it's fixed now, it's because mj banned me lol

Andres Kello

Absolutely nothingThis has been fixed, Scandi had been banned by mjnels in jest. I guess it's good to know Mods can be banned by other Mods, that should create an interesting dynamic!

Anyway, this was an isolated incident, folks, please report back if anyone experiences any other problems.

Andres, did this feature move to another location? I'm not seeing it.:dontknow:It should be on the left in the Private Messaging area, under the "Private Messages" header in between "Send New Message" and "Track Messages". Here's the direct link (http://mobility.mobi/private.php?pmsearch=1) to it.

Let me know if you (or anyone else) still don't see the "Search" link in the Private Messaging area.

Nope, that's where it used to be but it's not there. All I see is

List Messages
Send New Message
Track Messages
Edit Folders
